Sunday Without Wheels

After the madness… Z visible teaching in the back…
Sunday (July 19) – Sunday? Not on the bike?
Still sweating? You betcha! Today was meeting day. Once a month (ish) the
@CrossFitCanuck Coaches meet to go over stuff, exchange ideas (new warm-ups,
progressions and the like) and then we throw down. Now I don’t know if you have
noticed, but it is sweltering in the Greater Toronto Area. Not just hot, but
sweltering. I’m talking about the waistband of your underwear rolling up kind
of hot. The kind where your lungs are moving, but you just don’t seem to be
getting any air. I’ll come back to this in a minute. First we meet, then we have
to deal with the heat…
Garbage Ball (2 Rounds)
…ps my 6am class will be seeing this at
some point
Multiple Items, Boys vs. Girls
Now Tavia had 3 WODs picked out for us and
they sounded painful. The good news? It would be short, 15 minutes tops because
we had to be out before the Sunday weightlifting class got started. Mr. J. J.
Van Damme had the honor of selecting what work we were doing and my boy came
through! He selected the only WOD with the Row, Thanks Jordan!

Now remember when I said it was hot. The
lack of air thing. Well, it was a combination of these things that made this a
little bit of a killer. The Row was awesome and the Hang Power Cleans went down
10-10-10-10-10, but I just couldn’t seem to catch my breath. Or see. The sweat
pouring into my eyes almost made me wish I was wearing contacts. It was tough
to remember to keep lifting because it was really awesome to watch these
powerhouses (the Canuck Coaches) just rip into the reps. When the 15 minute CAP
came through, I was just heading to the Box Jumps. Decided to make a detour and
try and find some air by the back door.
With a the heavy lifting and then the push
today, I was spent. It has been a really, really, really awesome week. 7 WODs
in 7 days and besides the hip flexor, nothing has fallen off or ended up in a
cast. This upcoming week is going to be a bit broken since we are headed west
late in the week. The goal is to WOD 4 times before we go, hopefully once while
we are gone and then break out the running shoes. We’ll have to see how this goes…
