It’s funny that there are tears for a post that

It’s funny that there are tears for a post that is as happy as this one is. I guess that’s a result of the journey to get here. The struggle. The failure. The hopelessness.

But where there is darkness there is also kindness and light.

All my life I’ve wanted to be a father. To able to raise a child. To teach them. Show them how to be a contributing member of society. How to be a good person. As you progress in life you sometimes take for granted that life is a journey and not always an easy one.

You go through life and have adventures that will eventually lead you to your person. You get married and naturally assume that starting your family is the ‘easy’ next step. You don’t often hear otherwise. The struggle with fertility. The tests and appointments, the joys of conceiving and then the heartbreak of a miscarriage.

People don’t usually talk about it. At least, I didn’t hear it or understand until it became part of our journey. Your eyes and ears are opened and suddenly you begin to understand that everyone has a story and some are as heartbreaking as yours. You learn. You share. You grow and try to overcome.

Well we have overcome. You try and temper your excitement, because you fear an outcome. Today, I don’t fear anymore. I’m excited. Today we had our 20 week anatomy scan and the little bundle of joy is slowly getting ready to make his/her grand entrance.

I wouldn’t be at this place withouty wife @savannahjessie. She is the heart of our little family and the one who has had to bare the pokes, prods, pills and countless internal and external examinations. She has borne the brunt of the loss and the pain that we have shared and the joy we now feel.

We are excited to meet this little peanut and thankful for all who have helped us get here...
