Chip Away

Welcome to Monday. Ugh. Now I behaved (more or less) during
Phat Boy Fiesta and managed not to overdue it. I felt shredded from a tough
week and my right knee was feeling a bit wonky after the treadmill session. All
I had to look forward to (after a day of work) was a Chipper. What’s a Chipper
you ask? A Chipper is a combination of movements in a large number and is
probably one of the more difficult WODs (other than Murph) that we encounter.
Warm-up
500m Row
10 Squats
5 Push-ups
10 Squats
5 Pull-ups
10 Squats
Now since we are neck deep in Open prep, it’s not just a
Chipper on the menu for today, we also have a fairly intense strength section. 3
stations, 2 minutes per Round and 3 Rounds to do. Total time was 18 minutes. First
up, ME Deficit Push-ups, followed by a 250m Sprint Row and finished off with 5
Squat Cleans + Front Squat. The score totals were 75 Deficit Push-ups, and
average Row of 44s and a weight of 135lbs. It was crispy.
Chipper (AMRAP, 20 minute CAP)
50 Wallball (20lbs)
50 DUs (150, Singles)
40 Box Jumps (24” Box)
40 Knees to Elbows
30 Burpees
30 Chest to Bar Pull-ups (Green Band)
20 Cleans (@145lbs)
20 Jerks (@145lbs)
10 Snatches (@145lbs)
10 Muscle-ups
Thanks @SarahBassels! I was almost ready to throw in the
towel in the Burpee phase, but she kept me going strong.  I managed to get 6 Cleans. Crispy times 100.
Now I probably should have taken it a bit easy, but with a visit to Ian at
CoreStrength on tap for Wednesday any damage done could be fixed. My body did
hate me and as a result there was no GHD homework tonight.
