No One Said This Would Be Easy

I guess that goes for anything in life, but just once I would
be ok with easy. Now before you panic, this is just a blip on the path and
Jillian has already got me pointed in the right direction with small attainable
goals. Nothing crazy has been happening, I’m still holding 295lbs, but I’m not
seeing that number drop.  Add to that
some non-paleo eating which has been going on for the last 7-10 days and you
have a Beez that is not a happy camper. Breads seem to have appeared in my diet
and I have no idea where they came from (actually I do, I haven’t been prepared
which is the root of all problems for me). That plus my recovery issues and
progress has slowed. I just need to get my act together.

5 Duck Walks (Forward)
5 Duck Walks (Backward)

Now I’m still feeling the effects of Monday and the 1×20
Back Squat (mostly because I was trying to really get deep into the Squat) and
some parts of me were a little crisp. I was hoping the Front Squat wouldn’t be
too bad with a lighter weight, but I still have ZERO flexibility in my
shoulders so my elbows weren’t coming up high enough and I was fighting the
movement. 4×4 1 and a ¼ Front Squats at 165lbs followed by 5×3 Split Jerks at
135lbs. I started to feel a little better with the Jerks and there were a
couple that I really nailed.

WOD
50 DUs
10 Back Squats (@185lbs)
40 DUs
8 Back Squats
30 DUs
6 Back Squats
20 DUs
4 Back Squats
10 DUs
2 Back Squats

As much as I truly dislike DUs, the all-out hate I had for
them is slowly disappearing. In fact, with Tavia’s suggestion of faster hands a
couple of weeks ago and a tweak I made tonight, I almost have them. The problem
now is stringing them together. Like all things, if you work hard at it, you
will eventually get it right.  Finished
tonight in 10m47s which I thought was an ok time.

Cash-out
1600m Run
or
400m ME Calorie Row

Guess which one I did? WRONG (if you said the Row)!!! That’s
right, I went for a run. Crazy. If this Half-Marathon is going to happen (which
it most certainly is), then I need to embrace running and teach my body to love
it. OK, love it might be a bit strong. Let’s go with like it. Finished the 4
laps in 9m17s. Not blistering, but a start.

B-WOD
3×20 GHD Back Extensions
5 Deep Squats (Rig)
Hip Stretches

The homework was short tonight because I was pressed for
time. (and I was pretty crispy). Hopefully by the time I get back to the box
tonight I will be able to put forth a better performance.
