Aftermath and Homework

Every once and a while I need a reminder that my ankles are
not 100% and sometimes they just aren’t going to be able to keep up. After
playing some BFL football this weekend and a small tweak, I ran into my first
CrossFit workout that I couldn’t do.  I t
wasn’t that it was that hard, but physically my ankle was getting in the way.
Honestly, I was seriously pi$$ed off. Thanks to Tavia though for modifying the
WOD so that I could still work my butt off.
No tiddlywinks in the corner, but a full on sweat inducing mashup.

I’ve been nursing my legs for most of the day and I won’t
lie, I was terrified of the WOD.  We got
in, changed and then I noticed the warm-up.
Holy crap! It’s funny, but I haven’t been running a whole lot, but we
had a nice little run to warm-up and I completed it with no walking.

800m Run
10 Pushups
20 Squats
30 Lunges
20 Squats
10 Pushups

We moved on to find our 1 rep max for the power clean and
this is where my trouble started. I couldn’t drive off my right foot and to
compensate I was widening my stance (which is a no-no). We moved to the Turkish
Getup with a 25lb kettlebell and it was still an issue.  As we prepared for the WOD, my 200m run was
converted to a 200m row.

5 Rounds for Time (1 round listed below)
3 Hang Power Snatch (@65lbs)
6 Step-ups (20” Box)
200m Row
3 Hang Power Snatch (@65lbs)
6 Step-ups (20” Box)

The cash out was 30 toes to rings, but that was beyond me
today.  I got some homework to soak my
ankle in a bucket of ice water and to call Dr. Spin for an adjustment.  As you can see, mission accomplished.  Some Aleve and off to bed for this kid.

Congratulations to @Wardy_ for passing her certification
exams and becoming an RMT!
