Day Nineteen

Thanks to @hoodieruns for chirping, er, I mean encouraging me
last night to get my butt out of bed and get it to the gym. This morning wasn’t
nearly as tough as I expected it to be (a big ‘Thank You’ to the Ottawa
Senators for ending game for after less than four minutes of OT and to
@Keilshammer for the visit), but I still had some issues.  If my body was a giant blinking status
indicator (where the range goes from green (good) to red (bad)) then my entire
right leg would be blinking amber.  As the
week has gone on, my right ankle has been especially bad and the pain has been
bleeding into the bottom of my foot (just to clarify, no actual blood, just the
pain creeping down).

After yesterday’s cardio session, my legs (as noted above)
were still not feeling 100% so with that in mind Thursday became back and
shoulders day.  I’m not extremely worried
about hammering weights because my pins (legs) get a workout every day hauling
my XL carcass around.  The cardio should
be enough to keep them in shape. As sad as it is to say, there are days when I actually
wish the ligaments would tear completely so that they will have to fix the
stupid thing.

Treadmill – 30 minutes, 1.81 miles, 409 calories
MTS Row – 5×15 @40lbs ISO
Back Extensions – 5×20 @160lbs
MTS High Row – 2×15 @40lbs and 3×15 @45lbs
Shoulder Press – 1×15 @40lbs (machine broke… Yeah I’m a MONSTER)
ISO Lateral Shoulder Press – 3×15 @55lbs and 1×15 @45lbs
Abdominal Crunches – 3×20 @95lbs
Recumbent Bike – 30 minutes, 8.37 miles, 300 calories

Now I’m not exactly sure what happened today but I ran into
a couple of glitches.  While warming up
on the treadmill I developed a slight strain in my right calf (awesome…) and
for some reason I ended up missing a whole bunch of exercises.  No idea how I ended up missing Rear Delt,
Close Grip Pulldown or Wide Grip Pulldown, but sometimes that’s how it goes.

Based on the complete train wreck I’ve become the last
couple of days physically, I’m thinking tomorrow will be a light cardio session
in the condo gym and I will reevaluate legs next week.
