Definition from Wikipedia – Plyometrics is a type of exercise training designed to produce fast, powerful movements, and improve the functions of the nervous system, generally for the purpose of improving performance in sports. Plyometric movements, in which a muscle is loaded and then contracted in rapid sequence, use the strength, elasticity and innervation of muscle and surrounding tissues to jump higher, run faster, throw farther, or hit harder, depending on the desired training goal. Plyometrics is used to increase the speed or force of muscular contractions, often with the goal of increasing the height of a jump.

It does sound like a lot of complaining first off, but it’s actually me just trying to come to terms with working out harder in two days then I have in the last 6 months combined. While I may not be a big fan of Plyometrics it only because jumping and higher impact activities might not be the best thing for the ankles, knees, back etc…
So far P90X has been everything it said it would be, difficult and painful and extremely rewarding if you stick to it. Day 2 is supposed to be the hardest not only because of the type of exercise being done, but because when you get up the joy of starting something new is gone and you realize that you have 89 Days Left…
On an interesting side note… I posted on facebook that I was P90 and it’s amazing the amount of people of are doing it or have done it. Brent Z who I went to high school with hopped on and said he is in week 8 and that he is down 35lbs. It is very encouraging when you hear that this package does produce results.
Just to keep you up to date on the food front, as of right now I am not on the P90X diet officially. It has been a pretty busy week and weekend so I didn’t have time to get all the required food, but before you despair, I am combining their program with the diet/nutrition plan that was designed for me by a former Mr. Ontario bodybuilder. Until I have the chance to pick up what I need to go full out with regards to food…
