And so we continue…

Well we are now safely into April and Spritz and I have just completed the first session of the month. I’m not sure if I was gung ho or just looking to get a bit wild and crazy on the bike. An hour session (yup, that’s right, 60 minutes, an episode of Blue Bloods and one part of Castle).

So just to bring you up to date, I have been getting more and more focused in the last little while and now it’s time to address the diet portion. Now it was a cottage adventure this weekend which usually is the cue for lots of good food, lots of alcohol and a bag of chips or two. Now there was lots of booze and there may have been some chips, but the food was really healthy and really good. I whipped up two versions of tuna salad (one spicy thai and the other a lemon dill) and Steve whipped up some great steaks and some parsnip mashed potatoes.

But I digress…

The session tonight felt really, really good. It was 60 minutes at a cadence of 92. It was a nice high rate tonight and the BPM was 154 average with a peak of 164. I know the 164 is a bit high, but nothing to get worked up about. The problem that has been developing is tight calves and legs is a bit upsetting, but I have been working the stretches to loosen up the legs. Calf stretches, hamstring stretches and quad stretches… I ditched the hip flexors tonight because it was getting late and I wanted to make sure there was reading material for tomorrow.

The bike arrives this week!! Can’t wait!!
