Brantford Rail Trail

Headed to Brantford this weekend to visit Denis and Lisa and brought the bike with me to try and get myself back on the straight and narrow. I don’t know what has happened, but motivation has gone out the window and I just can’t seem to get moving. This was an opportunity to visit my peeps and try and get my chunky posterior moving.

Denis and I headed out on a little ride just for the heck of it. I wanted to check this path that I located on Shelliard dr., but we didn’t get there this time. We headed along the river on the same route that Fred, Char and I took 2 years ago when we rode to Paris ON. That ride took over 3 hours to cover 40KMs. Denis and I clocked 27.5KM in 1hr 35min. Not bad eh?

It was a bit of a stretch for me at some points as I haven’t been training at all, but I do enjoy riding the bike so it’s just a matter of doing it. Denis was really good as he has the ability to really hammer down (stupid long legs), but he paced with me and I tried to keep a steady 18-20KM/hr pace. The ride was really nice and we are going to do it again, maybe trying the other route that heads towards Dundas ON. In the fall it will be really colorful and peaceful.

Hoping to do it again soon,
