Well this Monday did not start off well at all. First off I woke up and my back was killing me. I stayed home and stayed in bed until noon. Medicated and went downstairs for a hot tub and a swim. That seemed to loosen me up, but things still weren’t right (good thing I had an appointment with Dr. Spin scheduled).
Just in case you are keeping track at home, it was 20 minutes of hot tub time and about 10 minutes of swimming lengths. I got my heart rate up and felt pretty good to be moving in a no impact kind of way.
I haven’t been the most active since the move, part of that was due to the injury and part of that was as a result of the beating my body takes playing ball. I’m hoping that now that the Blue Rams are finished for the season, I will be able to focus on trying to shed the last 50 lbs.
I know I’m jumping around a bit tonight, but bear with me. I saw Dr. Spin and this is the first time in a month he has had a chance to look at me. He fixed my hips (always an issue) and my lower back (result of the move) and then tried to clear the stress in my back (who knew, but apparently I’m stressed – Yeah surprise, surprise right). He checked out my knee and he went to work on the area around my knee causing an unbelievable amount of pain (but I did feel better after). The issue arose when my right hip and quad started to spasm on the ride home.
Got dinner, watched pirates and then jumped on the bike for the first time in a month. It was awful. I made it about 20 minutes before I had to shut it down. Knees, hips and the A/C all contributed to the brutal ride time. I’m writing to update you, but I’m feeling pretty disheartened right now. Diamond Dawgs playoff game tomorrow and Green Day Wednesday… It can only get better.
Goodnight,
Beez
