P90X Day 8 (Timeline +1)

Well the encouraging news here is that nothing bad has happened. Two workouts a day for the last two days and the body has responded beautifully. No letters of anger, no body parts exploding and no need for major surgery. I don’t know what it is, but the early morning spin (once it’s over of course) just seems to get the day going in the right direction. The problem that is gonna happen is that P90X demands a commitment of 90 consecutive days. This little thing called life just seems to pop up (although I’m sure I have mentioned this on more than one occasion).

Tonight’s workout was chest and back and was a serious combo of push-ups and pull-ups. It’s amazing how much difference a week can make and how important pacing yourself is. Pacing? That’s right, the first thing Tony Horton says in the beginning is to make sure you have enough gas left in the tank to make it through the second round of exercises. I had a little bit of discomfort in the shoulder while doing the dive bomber push-ups and the lawnmowers. It was a bit of a click but wasn’t too painful.

I am now officially through the first week of P90X and it’s shocking as hell to believe that the timeline is only sitting at +1. I’m sure that number will grow, but I will tell you this now, I will make every effort to keep the number from getting stupid. I also have a little bit extra that I’m throwing in with the spin sessions. This week is going to get a bit difficult from here on as I’m headed to Burlington tomorrow night for my birthday dinner with my family and then a family visit and funeral on Friday.

My condolences to Michelle, Kat, Jake, Rick and the rest of the Frame & Keilhauer families.
