Let’s Make Some Changes

Coach Z and his Mod for Beez
Monday (Jan 12) – Nooner time! Welcome to week number 2 of this New Year, we have goals on the board. In order to make that leap, sometimes you need to make the push and change the way that you approach day to day. While it is getting harder and harder to make it to the lunch classes with the way work has been going, but I still keep going. It’s a weird mindset. I am literally being worn down a little by little, but there is no choice but to keep marching on.  The bonus of being @CrossFitCanuck is that there are a wealth of Coaches who are willing to go that extra mile to help you get better.
Warm-up
25 Jumping Jacks
20 Mountain Climbers
15 In & Outs
10 Kettlebell Swings
5 Inch Worms

Sorry Z, I forgot…
I’m not sure what got into the water for today’s 12 minute madness, but OMG it was C-R-A-Z-Y intense. Every 90 seconds I completed 3 Front Squats @135lbs and 4 HSPU in Coach Z’s (@zlreyes) modification to help build strength and get me closer to my goal of a Bar Muscle-up. Hey setup a nice little deficit setup to help build shoulders and get ready to kick up to the wall. That being said, this 12 minutes sucked. I was absolutely shredded from the deficit HSPUs. The Front Squats felt good, but they were tough and my knee was bitching, but I kept it light and worked on speed and form.
WOD (20 minute CAP)
7 Rounds for Time
5 Hang Power Cleans (@155lbs)
10 Burpee over Bar
20 Calorie Row
There was a little bit of a shmozzle at the Rowers because we had a full class, but everyone got on and everyone worked their butts off.  I managed to finish 4 Full Rounds + 10 Burpees. It was tough and I seem to be struggling finding the fuel to get deep into WODs and this was no different. The only bonus I got out of this one was the Rower. I managed to knock off the 20 calories in between 34 and 39 seconds (little happy dance). I kept moving.
It was a mad dash to get back to the Big K for the mountain of work that I had to tackle. It does make for a tough afternoon at the office, but I did feel good that I managed to get the WOD in. I’m not sure why my performance has been so up and down, but it can only get better from here… I hope.
