Hiding in Plain Sight

Even after yesterday’s little pick me up, I was still
struggling this morning. I’m not sure what the heck is going on with my sleep
pattern, but I’m waking up groggy and tired. Let’s just say the desire to get
moving doesn’t exist (or at least is a negative number). Even with the
excitement of trying a new morning regime (I’m looking for a name for the
complex peeps, so please leave a comment) I still couldn’t get it together.
With the train wreck in mind, I knew that I would have to work extra hard to
try and make up for it. Let’s go.
Warm-up
400m Run
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats
20 Jumping Jacks
15 Squats
10 Wallballs (@14)
5 Burpees
Eff, more Burpees. Well, what doesn’t kill you makes you
stronger. Besides that, Thursdays have to be @CrossFitCanucks best kept secret.
The classes are only a few dedicated souls and Coach D (@DefconRX) keeps us
working hard. Tonight was one of those nights. First up was a complex of 1
Power Clean, 2 Squat Cleans and 1 Split Jerk every 90 seconds for 6 minutes.
130lbs, 140lbs and 3 rounds @150lbs (1 Power Clean, 1 Squat Clean and 1 Split
Jerk). Crispy, but I felt pretty good and felt that I stayed back on my heels
with my elbows up. We followed that with alternating rounds every 90 seconds of
4 Strict Press (from the Split Jerk position) and the combo of 5 Strict
Pull-ups and 3 Toes to Bar. I worked at 100lbs and the Pull-up/T2B section was
tough.
WOD (15 minute CAP)
10 – 15 – 20 – 25 – 30 Reps of
Wallballs (@20lbs)
Kettlebell Snatches (@35lbs alternating)
I see you KAREN! You can hide in any rep format that you
want, but I know who and what you are. 100 Wallballs by any other name are
still Karen. I struggled, mostly because I wanted to get to full depth for all
of the reps. At the CAP I was done 12 Kettlebell Snatches in the round of 30.
Bitter to not get done, but I finished after time was done.
Cash-out
18 Kettlebell Snatches (@35lbs)
3×400 Sprints (2m20s, 2m26s and 1m50s)
There wasn’t a lot left after the last 2 days of silliness
and I still had some soreness on the Pull-ups. Tonight I was also pressed for
time, I had to do some shopping to look spiffy for this weekends wedding of
P&L.
BWOD
Glute Stretch
Hip Stretches
Back Stretch
Forearm Stretch
Now it will be anther tough morning (I can foresee it), but I
will do my best to get out of bed. There is a WOD scheduled for Saturday and
then off to wedding land. Snow tires, a visit with the Sis and the Willow and
then it’s Monday again. Really, there needs to be more time in the day.
