Was Good… Now Not

This ankle is really starting to piss me off.  Yes German Catt I will look into the
Bio-Mechanical doctor, but for right now I will have to deal.  Dr. Spin had at it on Tuesday and it felt
amazing after he was finished.  It seems
like the ankle can’t take the weight of my body anymore and it’s causing it to jam
up. Irritating. It felt so good after he was finished that I didn’t work out on
Wednesday because I didn’t want the good feeling to disappear.

I woke up this morning and decided that another day of sloth
wasn’t going to work, so despite not setting the alarm I still got up and
headed to GoodLife. It was tough because sleep is still not my friend.  It seems to be getting tougher to get to and
harder to get up from, brutal. The ride to the gym was a beauty though, the sky
was unbelievable and it did make it worth the drive to Acton… or Scarborough in
this case.

Treadmill – 30 minutes, 1.85 miles, 410 calories
Rear Deltoid – 2×20 @115lbs, 1×20 @100lbs and 2×15 @85lbs
ISO MTS Row – 4×20 @30lbs
ISO MTS High Row – 4×20 @40lbs
Back Extensions – 5×20 @140lbs
Recumbent Bike – 20 minutes, 5.70 miles, 201 calories
‘Ski’ Elliptical – 10 minutes, 1.2 miles, 194 calories

Now by the time that I got finished, my ankle was killing
me.  It was aching all along the bottom
of the ankle and it started sliding under my foot (great, pain expansion). Besides
that, I felt pretty good getting back in the swing of things.  My body (although a bit tired and my arms
were like Jell-O) felt pretty energized after I hopped out of the shower, but
as the day wore on my ankle started getting worse and worse.  It’s so bad now, that I even rolled it
walking to dinner with the Doyls (yeah, klutz 1-oh-1).

I’m not sure what the plan is for tomorrow’s workout, but I’m
torn between the gym or spinning.  All
that and the Red Rocket (four wheel version) needs to go in for an oil change.
I’m also thinking about taking the two wheel version to Kitchener for Mother’s
Day to go for the first ride of the year.
I’m just worried that there won’t be enough time with all the family
related activities. We’ll see how it goes.

  1. my brother…get your weak assed %&%$#^ ankle off that treadmill!! and while your at it avoid the ski machine like the plague!! are you nuts? your ankle is jamming and your, forget it. why don't you insert some swim sessions to give the wheel a break, i know your worried about cardio for the bike ride. go hard with the upper bodies and you still get cardio in. you need to rest that ankle (especially when it is unjammed)so you can do the big ride coming up.
