Finally Found The Hammer

Well it is a touch and go game today, we’re playing our first round game against the number one team in the MBBL and we have to beat the ‘STORM’ that is coming through Toronto.  The wind is blowing out and the clouds are rolling in.

We started against Hydro One and for once, they weren’t hammering the ball over the fence every other at bat.  The even failed to field a full squad.  Problem was they are still a better team than we are. We scored four in the first, but gave up 7 in the bottom.  It was a see-saw battle, but we were on the short end of the numbers.  We just couldn’t score enough.
My night overall was pretty good going 3-for-3 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs.  Being perfect wasn’t the good part; it was the manner in which I got the two doubles.  They were two shots to the gap that were drilled.  They were hard hit balls that I just crushed.
The whole team was hitting well, especially Michelle, but it hurt to lose.  The other downer from the evening was that I sprained my foot and strained my left quad.  Stupid injuries.  Running hasn’t been possible, but it’s feeling well enough for me to play Monday and Tuesday.  Cottage long weekend for training too.
